This guide is built like a real-world atlas. The unit of organisation is the physical spot — a poster, a manhole cover, a parking-lot ambulance — not the item category. Each district section follows the same pattern: a one-line orientation, a list of hidden spots in the order you naturally encounter them, and for every spot the trigger action and the reward.

Across the article we tag every hidden item with a small rarity badge so you can plan your hunt by effort, not just by location.

Boîte à outils

Before we dive into specific districts, it pays to understand how Toca Boca hides things. Most secrets follow one of six trigger types. Once you recognise the pattern you can find new secrets faster than this guide can be updated.

The six trigger types

1. Single tap: The simplest. A poster, vehicle part, or piece of furniture reveals an item when tapped. Example: ambulance fuel tank at the Hospital.
2. Move object: You need to physically drag an item off a shelf, lift a manhole cover, or pull back a curtain to reveal what is behind or below. Example: manhole cover crumpet in Bop City storage.
3. Character as key: A specific named character (most often Zeke, Nari, Rita or Leon) must be present and holding specific items. The interaction is character-locked. Example: every summoning crumpet.
4. Item combination: Two items have to be combined or placed together at a specific spot. Order and even left/right hand can matter.
5. Pattern or code puzzle: Pictures arranged to match wall marks, a keypad code entered after collecting digits, a sequence of buttons in the right order. Example: Haunted House gallery, Hospital 3-digit safe.
6. Trail follow: Visual breadcrumbs in the level (food crumbs, footprints, wall marks) lead you to a specific micro-location. Place an item at the trail's end to trigger the reward. Example: Croquet food bowl in Bop City storage.

Five visual cues to scan for

Walk into any new room and run your eyes over these five things first — they catch ninety percent of hidden triggers:

• Posters and frames with text or symbols that read like instructions ("No Sloth", arrows, numbers).
• Manhole covers, vents, trapdoors and loose floor tiles — anything that suggests a layer beneath.
• Crumbs, scuff marks, paw prints or stains on the floor — these are trail-follow markers.
• Out-of-place objects (a microwave inside a hair salon, a toilet that looks slightly off-grid) — usually hiding interactions.
• Tombstones, fuel tanks, suitcases, lockers and trolleys — containers that almost always reward a tap.

Atlas Bop City

Bop City is the secret-density capital of Toca Boca World. The storage centre alone contains more hidden interactions than entire districts elsewhere, and it is also where every summoning crumpet must be assembled (covered in its own table below). Storage centre

The storage centre sits at the heart of Bop City and looks like a working warehouse with rolling doors and crates. It functions as the game's "summoning chamber" but it also contains its own self-contained secrets.

Mall

The Bop City mall is mostly a shopping location, but it doubles as the primary source of items needed to assemble summoning crumpets at the storage centre. While you are there, three small secrets are worth grabbing in passing:

The narrow three-story building near the apartment block is one of the most overlooked hiding spots in Bop City.

How to read the table: stand the listed character in the storage centre, place item A in their right hand (your left from the camera view), place item B in their left hand (your right). The crumpet spawns immediately when the combination is correct.

The Haunted House is one of the moodiest locations in Toca Boca World and contains two of the most "satisfying" hidden interactions — a puzzle-driven lab reveal and a gravedigging mini-event.

Beyond crumpets and pets, Toca Boca World hides a full set of eight coloured gems scattered across districts. Each gem is small, sometimes tucked behind a vent, picture frame, or toilet tank, and counts toward the same global gem collection. Le Crumpet Crumpet (déblocage final)

The Crumpet Crumpet is unique because it is not summoned with items in a character's hands — it is a compound reward. To unlock it you must already own every other secret crumpet except Salon and Tailor (those two are not required for the final). Carry the qualifying crumpets to the large yellow container in the Bop City storage centre and place them all inside. The Crumpet Crumpet spawns alongside two bonus items: a miniature caravan and a small suitcase apartment for it to live in.

Objets saisonniers et d’événement

A rotating layer of secrets exists only during in-game events. Halloween typically introduces a black-cat or pumpkin crumpet, the winter event adds snow-themed accessories and a sleigh prop, and the spring event brings flower-crown outfits and a butterfly pet variant. These items are tagged Événement in our atlas. If you missed an event, watch the in-game post office and gift machine for retroactive drops during anniversary celebrations.

Mascotte robot (machine à cadeaux)

The gift machine accepts certain item combinations rather than just dispensing random gifts. Combining a standard pet token with a robot accessory token triggers a robotic companion variant — a hybrid pet that behaves like a normal animal but with metallic textures and unique idle animations.

Transformations surprise

Toca Boca récompense en douce les combinaisons « incorrectes » : accessoires loufoques sur la tête, ou deux éléments de coiffure incompatibles, parfois un effet cosmétique unique (aura lumineuse, emoji temporaire). Ce sont des easter eggs voulus, pas des bugs — expérimentez au salon et dans la cabine d’essayage.

Erreurs fréquentes & dépannage

Of every email and comment we get about Toca Boca secrets, four problems account for roughly 90% of "this isn't working for me" reports. If a secret on this atlas does not trigger, walk through the checklist before assuming the guide is wrong.

1. Left and right hand swapped

Toca Boca's characters face the player, so when this guide says "right hand" it means the character's right hand, which appears on your left on the screen. About half of failed crumpet summons are resolved by simply swapping the two items between hands.

2. Wrong item variant

Many secret combinations require a specific colour or design variant — the golden remote, not the regular one; the green gemstone, not a red one; the black camera, not the silver. The Mall stocks visually similar decoys. If a combo fails, return to the source location and confirm you grabbed the exact variant listed in the table.

3. Wrong character

Summoning crumpets are character-locked. Zeke handles Sloth, Nimbus and Arcade; Nari handles Midge, Poop and Panda; Rita handles Paulina and Octobox; Leon handles Pasta, Nora, Salon and Tailor. Substituting a different family member, even one with the same items, will not trigger the spawn.

4. Outdated game version

If a secret was added or relocated in a recent patch, players still on an older build will not see it. Check your store listing for an update before troubleshooting further. Conversely, if a secret you used to know has stopped working, Toca Boca may have rotated it — let us know and we will re-verify against the current version.

Bonus: state-dependent triggers

A handful of secrets only fire when a related condition is also met. The Croquet bowl, for example, needs the floor indent clear of other props; if you parked another item on the same spot, the spawn silently fails. When in doubt, sweep the surrounding floor of debris and re-try.
